I spent a day with The Hill Family doing what some might call a “lifestyle” session. I showed up with camera(s) in hand, ready to shoot whatever was going to happen in their home that day. The Hills are planning a formal Family Portrait session in the next couple of weeks but the shots below are nice because we were able to let everyone just be.

The Hills have a set of twins, a singleton, and a set of triplets. For those of you who have ever wondered how families like The Hills do it, the short answer is with LOTS of LOVE! Amy and Richie are incredibly patient and loving. They are natural parents and I give them all the credit in the world for making it look so easy!

It was so much fun to hang out with everyone! I enjoy sessions with babies and small children because as a photographer I’m able to capture certain milestones that parents easily forget as their children grow. The twins are at that stage where everything is about them. They want all the attention, and they want it NOW! The triplets are starting to pull up on things (myself included) and starting to get teeth, so it was important I get shots that showed these stages. Zach, the singleton is exploring his imagination, chasing his shadow, and learning how to make sure he’s heard among his brothers and sisters.

Amy and Richie, it was a pleasure hanging out and I can’t wait until our next session!

Carmela is beautiful. She’s calm. She knows her poses from watching plenty of ANTM (America’s Next Top Model). She’s the perfect client because she knows how to give me her eyes exactly the way I want them.

I had an amazing time in an amazing studio with Carmela, and after her Fiance sees her photos he won’t know what hit him!

Carmela, you are going to be a GORGEOUS bride!

If you’re thinking about a Boudoir session but don’t have a location you feel comfy in, can’t get seem to find the time to lock everyone out of your home, or had something themed or involving the use of props in mind, consider renting a studio!

I LOVE working with natural lighting, but I enjoy working in the studio too because of the freedom to modify the light without making my client work too hard. In our case, yesterday half of California was on fire and the air was just terrible! Lucky for us, we were able to carry on with our scheduled session!

I hope all of you are safe this evening. My heart goes out to anyone in harms way due to these terrible fires!
